Delusional Spending....or Delusional President

According to President Bush, our economy has "slowed".
Not sure which planet he is on this week, but we are way beyond a slow-down in our economy. We are seeing higher unemployment rates, loss of jobs, loss of homes, and many having to choose between food on the table or paying a utility bill.
So to adjust this 'slower economy' American families and businesses will see tax rebates. Many analysts fear that these rebates will be either used to pay off debt, mounting bills, or saved. Not actions that will boost our economy....spend spend spend they say!

Bush gently urged people to do the latter. “When the money reaches the American people, we expect they will use it to boost consumer spending,” he said.

In a time when our outlook is looking dimmer and dimmer, the cost of living higher, food gas and electricity bills mounting, mortgage woes, our President tells us to go on a shopping spree?
He has time and time again proven to me how delusional he really is, but this tops the cake. Our country has gone beyond poor money management, beyond a slight economic slow-down, and beyond being saved by shopping.
